A certified surgical scrub tech will have knowledge of all surgical procedures and be able to properly set up a room with proper instrumentation using sterile technique. The certified surgical scrub tech will be able to anticipate the surgeons need for instruments and hand appropriate instruments to the surgeon during a procedure. Must be knowledgeable in sterilization of instruments and maintaining sterilization throughout a surgical procedure.

Non-Certified: Set up, operates and maintains various types of cardiopulmonary equipment to be utilized in the diagnosis and treatment of cardiopulmonary disease, acute pulmonary illness or metabolic disorders.

Decontaminates, assembles, and inspects equipment and instruments for surgery and other departments in the hospital. Accurately operates sterilizers and performs biological and integrator testing while maintaining record keeping system. Accurately operates instrument washer.

The Charge Nurse, in addition to meeting the RN standards, has the responsibility for the following:  completes assignment of patient care to appropriate personnel; makes rounds on the unit to assess patient condition and needs following up with the team leader to discuss as needed actions; counsels staff; provides input regarding staff performance; participates in multi-disciplinary patient care conferences; and promotes and assures patient safety.

Graduate of an accredited school of nursing required.  Minimum of 1 year experience as a staff nurse in area of specialty.  Current State of Illinois Registered Nurse license, current CPR certification and any other certification appropriate to specialty required.

Audits medical documentation according to correct coding initiatives by attaching necessary modifiers and ensuring that codes are not bundled.

High school graduate or GED equivalent.  Requires: HCPCS I, II, III skills, advanced clerical training, medical record terminology, knowledge of ICD-9-CM and CPT coding. Must be able to complete a coding test with 90% accuracy. 2-5 years coding experience required.

To administer ionizing radiation to patients producing diagnostic radiographs which assist in the diagnosis and treatment of patients. Responsible for x-ray quality, maintaining repeat and reject analyzes, and fluoroscope of lead apron used in the clinic setting.  Has to be knowledgeable about insurance, pre-certifying patients for diagnostic test or therapies, surgeries procedures, and/or referrals to another provider. Knowledgeable about super bills and entering x-ray charges daily. Understanding the Electronic Medical Records and confidentiality of patients and records.  Acquired skills of assessments and documentation on patient medical forms, office medical procedures and entries of documentation into the patient chart.  Performs surgical x-rays when provider in surgery suite. Maintains clinical equipment in good working order, reports all problems to proper supervisor and able to maintain supplies for x-ray area in the clinic.

Graduate of AMA accredited radiography program.  Current State of Illinois License.  ARRT preferred.

Provides patient/client care in compliance with standards of professional nursing practice in a respectful, safe, individualized manner and in accordance with DME policies and procedures.

Cleans and maintains hospital in a sanitary, orderly, and attractive condition, according to established procedures.  This includes disposing of trash, medical waste, and soiled linens, as well as dusting high vents, TV’s, cabinets, and other furnishings.  It also includes cleaning and polishing mirrors, glass, and stainless steel, as well as mopping floors and stairs and vacuuming.  The environmental aide also replaces soiled shower or cubicle curtains, cleans elevators, water fountains and Coke machines.  They also spot clean walls, doors and windows as needed.

High School Diploma or GED preferred.  Must have good reading and writing skills and capable of following oral/written instructions.  Previous housekeeping experience in a health care facility would be beneficial.  Housekeeping certification is optional.

Responsible for receiving patients at the front desk and obtaining correct demographic and insurance information for registration.  Copy all insurance cards and enter correct information into the system and place a copy of card in the patient’s chart.  Schedule all patient appointments in the system.  Review A/R balance is both LSS and BAR and post to patient super-bill prior to patient appointment.  Run provider daily patient list, pull charts and organize paperwork for appointment.  Attach super bill with balance due and co-payment information posted.  Collect co-payments, payments in full or payments on accounts due at time of service or any time a patient wants to pay on their accounts.  Complete all accounting paperwork and make daily deposits to the bank.  File all charts away in alphabetical order.  Copy insurance and or other requests for medical records.  Call patients and remind them of their appointments. Run unverified encounter list nightly and complete all unverified encounters before the midnight run.  Complete registrations without encounter list in a timely manner.

High School graduate or GED equivalent.  Requires typing and computer skills, knowledge of medical terminology, and good interpersonal skills.  Knowledge of ICD-9 coding, CPT coding, HCPS, Modifiers, Global Period, CCI Edits, Anatomy/Physiology, Medicare regulations and insurance billing helpful.
