St Margaret's is Breaking Ground

St. Margaret’s will open a new primary care clinic at 1650 Midtown Road in north Peru, directly south of HyVee and west of the Center for Physical Rehab. Sitework for the new St. Margaret’s Midtown Health Ce nter began April 5, with construction to be completed in late 2010. Occupancy is planned for early 2011.
The 14,500 square-foot facility will house 9 practitioners - 6 primary care physicians and 3 mid-level providers. Expanded lab services and diagnostic testing, including digital x-ray, will be offered on site. Patients will be able to have many common procedures performed at the new center.

This center will have direct connectivity to St. Margaret’s information systems, allowing practitioners to immediately access the patient’s electronic medical record and test results. Radiologists located at the hospital will be able to access digital x-ray images via the PACS system, thus improving turn-around time for interpretations. Digital technology also eliminates the need for transporting films to the hospital and the need to devote large amounts of space for storage of films.

Tim Muntz, President & CEO, commented, “In choosing the location, and planning the design for Midtown Health Center, our top priorities were to improve convenience and increase overall access to primary care services for our patients and their families. The facility will be spacious to accommodate patient flow, with ample and adjacent parking. The center will be an excellent addition to the already vibrant Midtown area.”

Midtown Health Center will be a great complement to an area that already is a frequent destination of area residents due to a number of businesses already located there- Hyvee, restaurants, banking, Rehab Services and other retail outlets.

The physicians at the clinic will be Family Medicine physicians Shawn Bailey, MD; Alex Bernal, MD;. Damian Grivetti, MD; Jeffrey Tanzi, DO; Richard Twanow, MD; and Internal Medicine physician Ramon Inciong,MD. Joining the physicians in caring for area residents are Physician Assistants Carrie Lopez, PA-C, Michael Miller, PA-C, and Kristie Shin, PA-C, according to Jason Dotson, VP of Clinic Operations. There will be approximately 30 support staff employed at this site, as well.

Continued Mr. Muntz, “St. Margaret’s has a century-old tradition of providing high quality, patient-centered care to residents. We are excited about this opportunity. We are also committed to using local union labor, wherever possible, for this project.”
